Sawaariya happens to bethe latest production of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and performed by the newcomers, Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor.
The film is indeed a one long song with some breaks for dialog. Now, what are the dialogs? By dialog is meant the girly tittering by the chic and some expressions which are nothing except punch-me-in-the-face, which are also accompanied by pig-like grunting by the hero! If any one ever comes across through the length and breadth of the film, what will he/she feel? He will definitely wonder whether all the actors in the film are the mere supports and the set (that is farflung from the beginning to end) is the real hero in this movie! Now if you ever manage to see you will surely conclude that the bridge-over-the-fake-river is the central star of the movie. Since everyone of the other actors looks as if they were made of rock, and the rocks had moss growing over them being painted in the blue color.
But if anyone ever comes to the conclusion that Sawaariya has failed to match the aspiration of the audience being a carppy movie, it is definitely a wrong assessment! But you can surely apply the term ridiculous but even it doesn't really capture the essence of the absurdity that this movie is. After watching this movie I felt like tying up Sanjay Leela Bansali alone in a room, forcing him to watch a cockroach chase a spider round-and-round a water fountain for 3 hours, and in it should be included my loss of energy, if it is valued should be snatched from the producer!
But before ending there is one thing to enquire. What has been the reason to make the whole movie in blue! Maybe the director was trying to get every frame half-black half-blue, with the sole intention of making the WinZip compression to work better. Reason? Definitely to save some electrons, since we are totally obsessed with the saga of global warming. The film neither has any procedure or concept to begin, nor to end! The least is said about the middle is better!
God save the film unit.
